Ramadan Iftār: Fundraising Dinner being hosted by students! It’s for a good cause. This event was inspired by a local #tbay medical doctor.
Join us this Ramadan for an Iftār Fundraising Dinner on June 29, 2016. All proceeds from this event will go RFDA Thunder Bay Regional Food Distribution Association in order to provide nutritious food to those in need. Limited Seating Available: purchase tickets now. This event was inspired thanks to an initiative by a local medical doctor in Thunder Bay. He is hoping to raise $15,000 this month while fasting and we are hoping to help him exceed his goal by hosting this fundraiser. Here’s Why: There are children starving all over the world including right here at home. I will be fasting for 18 hours a day for the next month (approx 4AM to 10PM without food and water). I would like to raise $500 each day that I fast to help feed the hungry. I have many facebook friends who care and I know they will support me to raise these funds. All money raised will be donated to the Regional Food Distribution Association to ensure that kids in the North have fresh fruits and vegetables to complete a balanced meal. Event Details: Doors open at 9p, Event will begin 9:30, and Guests will have an opportunity to break fast at Sunset with their fellow Muslim-Canadians. Middle Eastern Dinner and Sweets will culminate the evening. Here’s a link for those who would also like to donate: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/pages/fast-for-500/#.V1n2KRo6PBc.facebook
